This is the video we made for the 7/11 Slurpee Canada contest.
We found out about this contest on Monday (August 9), started filming everything on Saturday (August 14) and submitted the video on the Sunday (August 15) deadline. If we only had more time we would have made the video a lot better. Unfortunately, nothing is perfect in life but we are all just very happy that we made an effort to compete. If we win, we are gonna spend the price money on better recording equipments.
We are making a video to promote the fact that Racial Stereotype still exist in our society.
We are going to dance to Poker Face By Lady Gaga.
Here is the event on FACEBOOK. Over 200 confirmed guests.
Dress however you like. We will dance to poker face. Our goal is to point out that social stereotype is still prevalent in our society. People are ignoring it by putting up a poker face. The dance moves will be super simple, you can learn it on the spot!!!!
This is our 3rd video, is called Chicken Fever. We made it with the intent to deliver the message that Asian guys can be cocky and confident. Being cocky or confident is a personal characteristic that is developed over time. It is not dependable on one’s race or color. In the making of this video, we made a lot of new friends and met many wonderful people. We also visited Anime North 2010. In the end, we turned everything into this video. No laws were broken and no animals were harmed in the production of this video.
I always believed that you shouldn’t label an individual based on his color or culture. Many people have called me banana in the past because they think I am yellow on the outside and white on the inside. I want to show the world how silly it is to call someone a banana by actually being a banana. We spent a lot of time to film this video because we believe in quality over quantity.
This is our first video, “Crazy Asian Guy Dancing In Public”. This is the first of many cool videos that we are producing, expect our rap video to be released in the near future.
The reason behind the madness
Sexy Dragon Production was started in October 2009. If you look at our Youtube page, you will notice that we created our Youtube account on November 11, 2009.
SexyDragon made a rap performance in his highschool about Global Warming. After finishing highschool, he entered the University of Toronto as an Electrical Engineering student. In October 2009, SexyDragon wrote a poem and send it to a Filipino girl name “Rochelle”. With the extra time and financial resources available as a result from working as a full time intern at a large computer company, SexyDragon decided to create a rap song about a concerning racial issue. This issue being all the misconception that Asian guys are shy, timid, and feminine.
He spoke to his long time friend Big D and G69 about his wish to use his spare time to break that stereotype. And so they decided to started a project where they will create an original rap song dealing with this issue. SexyDragon has been working with G69 & his brother on recording the rap song since October 2009. And in December 2009, the final version of the song was completed. Since then, Sexy Dragon Production has been filming this video at various locations in Toronto as a first promotional video for the the upcoming rap song.
